McLaughlin declared an interest in item 2c, namely “Ban on Greyhound Racing in Northern Ireland”, in so far as their partners were Members of the Northern Ireland Executive, and they did not participate in the discussion or vote on that item.

Notice of Motion - Together: Building a United Community Strategy Additional documents: Minutes: The Committee agreed that the motion, which had been proposed by Councillor Nelson and seconded by the High Sheriff, Councillor McAteer, be referred, in the first instance, to the Strategic Policy and Resources Committee.

Moved by the Chairperson (Councillor Flynn), Seconded by Councillor de Faoite,
That the Committee agrees to refer the motion for debate at the Council meeting without restrictions.
Amendment
Moved by Councillor Murphy, Seconded by Councillor P. Donnelly,
That the Committee rejects the motion.
On a vote on the amendment standing in the name of Councillor Murphy, four Members voted for it and twelve against and it was accordingly declared lost.
The Committee subsequently agreed to adopt the proposal as moved by Councillor Flynn.
