            The minutes of the meeting of 23rd September were taken as read and signed as correct.  It was reported that those minutes had been adopted by the Council at its meeting on 1st October.

            Councillors Long and R. McLaughlin declared an interest in item 2c, namely “Ban on Greyhound Racing in Northern Ireland”, in so far as their partners were Members of the Northern Ireland Executive, and they did not participate in the discussion or vote on that item.

            The Committee agreed that the motion, which had been proposed by Councillor Smyth and seconded by Councillor Groogan be referred, in the first instance, to the City Growth and Regeneration Committee.

Proposal

 

            Moved by the Chairperson (Councillor Flynn),

            Seconded by Councillor de Faoite,

 

       That the Committee agrees to refer the motion for debate at the Council meeting without restrictions.

 

Amendment

 

            Moved by Councillor Murphy,

            Seconded by Councillor P. Donnelly,

 

                   That the Committee rejects the motion.

 

            On a vote on the amendment standing in the name of Councillor Murphy, four Members voted for it and twelve against and it was accordingly declared lost.

 

            The Committee subsequently agreed to adopt the proposal as moved by Councillor Flynn.
