Planning and Development Forum – Planning Functions Post RPA
3rd March, 2010
Approximately 150 attending |
The use of the City Hall |
The Review of Public Administration (RPA) represents a fundamental change programme in itself and the transfer of planning functions under RPA is being taken forward as an integral part of the reform programme.
As part of RPA the bulk of planning functions will no longer rest with the Planning Service. Instead these powers will be devolved to District Councils which, through their elected representatives, will be responsible and accountable for planning decisions.
This event aims to discuss in detail the planning functions which will be devolved and to consider the implications of such for Belfast City Council. Furthermore, due to the importance of this matter, invitations will be extended to all Members of Council
The purpose of this event is integral to the future functions of the Council and would contribute to the Council’s Key Themes of ‘City Leadership – Strong, Fair, Together’ and ‘Better Services – listening and delivering’. |
