Use of the Council Chamber

The Democratic Services Manager reminded the Committee that, at its meeting on 24th January, it had agreed to provide support for International Women’s Day.  As part of the events on 8th March, the live screen in the grounds of the City Hall would be used to broadcast a DVD of interviews with various famous female personalities.  Women’stec, which was involved in the organisation of the event, had requested the use of the Council Chamber later in the day to record introductions to each of the speakers on the DVD.

The Democratic Services Manager reminded the Members that the use of the Council Chamber for events other than the monthly Council meetings required the approval of the Committee.  He recommended, given the Council’s ongoing support and involvement in International Women’s Day, that the request be granted.

            The Committee adopted the recommendation.
